Here are five key pieces of advice for those striving to attain Jannah (Paradise) in Islam:
Establish and Guard Your Prayers (Salah):
Perform the five daily prayers with sincerity and devotion. Prayer is a direct connection to Allah and a fundamental pillar of Islam. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “The first thing a person will be called to account for on the Day of Judgment is the prayer” (Tirmidhi).
Adhere to the Quran and Sunnah.
Live your life following Quranic guidance and teachings by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Strive towards living a life of good character, honesty, kindness, and humility in every sense of life.
Ask Forgiveness (Istighfar) and repent continually
Nobody is saved from sin, but through repentance, the doors of mercy open. Allah says in the Quran: “Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:222). Always ask for forgiveness and seek to improve.
Be charitable and kind to others:
Help those in need, be it through financial support, kind words, or simple acts of kindness. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Whoever removes a difficulty of a believer in this world, Allah will remove one of his difficulties on the Day of Resurrection” (Muslim).
Remind Allah (Dhikr) and Purify Your Intentions:
Engage regularly in remembering Allah through dhikr, du’a (supplication), and gratitude. Your every move should be for the sole acceptance of Allah. True intent lifts even the most meager of acts.
Alhamdulillah to Allah for leading all of us to the straight path, and to Jannah, may Allah accept it. Ameen.
